The Opportunity
We're seeking a talented and dedicated Senior UX Researcher to join our team, who'll support the team in developing the deep and meaningful knowledge of our users that's needed to design an elegant, seamless, and empowering UX for the hiring teams and candidates who rely on Employ every day. We believe that well-designed user experiences in the workplace are key to helping entire companies collaborate effortlessly on hiring — and that great user experiences build on great user research.

This is an opportunity to be a part of something impactful and transformative. As part of our world-class, customer-first organization, Employ Design plays a key role in our success. This role is a great fit for someone who's keen to take on research projects that range from evolving our existing UX, through to identifying opportunities for new, innovative functionality.

As a Senior UX Researcher, you’ll take on challenges across multiple stages of our design and delivery process. Understanding our users is core to how we work — through UX research, testing (and re-testing!) design concepts, and ongoing feedback from customers. We’re looking for a UX Researcher with a strong track record of enhancing and evolving companies' understanding of their users; someone who takes a collaborative approach to solving problems, partnering with teams across Employ to uncover the insights we need to deliver delightful, easy-to-use experiences to our users.

The Team
Members of the Design Team bring a broad set of skills and experiences to Employ, and are continuously learning from each other. Our team is collaborative, thoughtful, and passionate about user-centered design. We work closely with our partners in Product Management and Engineering. As a researcher on this team, you’ll have a direct impact on shaping our product experiences for thousands of candidates and TA team members, helping Employ build the future of recruiting.

What would make you a great fit for this role?
  • 8+ years of UX research experience for digital products; can be combined with experience in related roles like UX design or Product Management

  • Demonstrated expertise in UX research methodologies and applying them real-world scenarios, showcased in case studies that highlight the impact of your research in delivering great user experiences for digital products

  • Always learning: you stay up to date on the latest developments in the field of UX Research

  • Experienced at proactively looking ahead in a product roadmap, and identifying the need for new UX research to support feature work

  • In-depth experience conducting UX research for SaaS and/or B2B products; as a researcher, you’ve had ownership over multiple complex research projects, from planning and running research sessions through to synthesising findings

  • Adept at quickly identifying key research themes, socialising them, and persuasively advocating for product changes based on actionable insights

  • Comfortable creating and evolving research-based personas, and supporting R&D teams'  knowledge and use of key personas in their work

  • Good track record of project-level leadership, on a design team and cross-functionally; you effectively engage the right people at the right time

  • Motivated to proactively help evolve our UX research practice at Employ; you can articulate how your areas of expertise would move our practice forward

  • You understand the value of mentoring others in UX research best practices, providing constructive critique and guidance that helps them raise the bar for their own work

  • Comfortable working independently and proactively on research projects that span multiple stages of the product development lifecycle

  • Confident and experienced participant in the product development process, from problem definition to launch and iteration; you've been part of teams that ship products with positive impact on users, customers, and the business; you track & measure the impact of your work

  • A track record of collaborating successfully with PMs, engineers, and designers — plus partnering cross-functionally with teams across the company

  • You lead by example when seeking to understand complex user feedback, needs, goals, and challenges; you’re comfortable embracing ambiguity, and don't hesitate to go back to the drawing board if your first (or second, or third!) research hypothesis isn't correct

  • Good knowledge of UX best practices for designing digital experiences that are easy to use, accessible, responsive, and scale to support a large user base

  • Strong communications skills: you can clearly articulate the benefit and impact of your research recommendations and guidance to others, backed up by well-chosen, compelling user & product data, customer stories, and industry best practices
What are some nice-to-haves for this role?
  • Familiarity with HCM or other software in the Talent Acquisition space

  • Experience at a digital agency, conducting UX research for clients

  • We understand that no candidate is a perfect match for every listed requirement, and we welcome those who are eager to grow and adapt in a dynamic environment to still apply
